As Paul says, this is a "country Saperavi" meaning it is bold, juicy, but relatively easy to drink (for a Georgian Saperavi). Now that may be for the Georgian palate. I would say this is a very intense and juicy red wine. Lots of brambly blackberry notes and a deep, deep color that will absolutely stain your teeth in the best way!

Vineyard Notes

The Anaga vineyard is usually picked on September 11th and the wine is "drinkable" by the 15th"-Paul Rodzianko.

Production Notes

The wine spends 5 days on skins and stems (cha-cha) fermenting in qvevri. The extended aging in qvevri was not as necessary with Saperavi to make a bit of a lighter style, so some of the wine was bottled fresh, the rest aged in qvevri off skins and stems. The stems add a fresh, more vegetal flavor profile.

Fun Facts

Paul says that his wines are typically ready early, but only get better with age. This is still a robust wine, just softened a bit with bottle age. Decant for sediment though!
