Classic Georgian flavors of dried apricots, tamarind, and persimmon. This wine is the pinnacle of tradition. It is gripping in texture, yet somehow feels smooth and elegant when combined with food. The mouthfeel is rich, but not overpowering.

Vineyard Notes

Hand harvested, All of the vineyards are farmed with no intervention beyond traditional farming methods. The wine is made the same way it has been for 8,000+ years! 2022 was one of the finest years for Rkatsiteli in memory. The grapes were picked September 8th by hand and then dried together with the branches before pressing.

Production Notes

The wines are fermented on their skins and stems (cha-cha) until February 25th. After the inintial fermentation and maceration period, the wines are pumped into a different qvevri and aged for an additional year. After approximately 18 months in qvevri, the wines are bottled and aged between 6 months and 2 years. In this case it was one year in bottle.
