Best described as a true winemaker's wine, this is a great representation of a wine NOT made for those that just want to enjoy good juice. Is this a single vineyard Napa bottling? Yes. Is it in any way stuffy or clunky? No. Is this wine great? Yes! The flavors of blueberry, dark cherry, and cocoa meld seamlessly to provide a bold, rich profile with a flavor meant to last long beyond the first sip.

Production Notes

Best described as a true winemaker's wine, this is a great representation of a wine made for those that overthink it. This is powerful, juicy, Napa Cabernet. In Texas they say it's a "Cab-and-a-Slab Kinda Wine". Underneath the hedonistic facade lies a lot of complexity. The blue fruit nature of the wine is a nod to the cooler climate of Coombsville. The grapes are all coming from the Caldwell Vineyard and it is in fact 100% Cabernet with Sauvignon at 94% with a touch of Franc at the end. The wine is aged in some new French oak and is made in a lighter, more playful style than Component- its older brooding brother.

Fun Facts

"We made this wine for the times when we wanted something for the table with friends, something that was made from serious fruit but in a young, fruity and round style. The blend comes from the estate surrounding the cheese shed on property in Coombsville, and reminds us of the citrus fruits, wild flowers and California sunshine on the property. Best enjoyed young with wonderful people and casual food."- MK2
