"Easy drinking red – medium bodied, red fruits and spice" is how the Koerners describe this wine. We agree wholeheartedly. This is a great representation of the wines that come from this fresh and cool corner of South Australia. Red and blue fruit lift the floral elements and leave you wanting for more.

Vineyard Notes

Hand harvested and sorted in vineyard. Harvest dates were March 11th, March 18, 23, 30th & April 6, 8, 9th 2021, respectively

Soil Type(s): Clay loam on shale soft rock and sandy loam on deep clay

Production Notes

The grapes are crushed and de-stemmed, retaining 50% whole berry with no whole bunch. The free run and later pressings are combined, then cold settled off gross lees for 7 days. The wine is fermented utilizing native yeasts in staibless steel exposed to open air and hand plunged twice daily. The time on the skins is 2 weeks in total. The wine is aged in 2,000L Slavonian Foudre for 7 months, then stainlesss steel for another 5. No fining or filtering.

Fun Facts

The variety of soils and elevations all speak to the diversity of microclimates here. Most growers are still figuring out what goes where, but the work is paying off with some stunning results.
